I was just for fun, browsing the Wilson Combat site. I noticed the these buffers.

I was wondering if these are for Mall Ninja Guy or maybe serve a good purpose?

I mean protecting metal from metal is always a good thing but I thought I would ask.

they can actually cause more stress since the recoil spring dynamics change when one is installed. not to mention the little bits of the buffer getting wedged everywhere if it decides to come apart.

a properly functioning 1911 does not need this gimmick.

If you run 10K a year through your gun and are willing to change them out every 500 rounds (they do breakup and cause jams) then it might be worth it for you. Never would I use them on a carry gun though.
