I had the Walther P22 and sold it to buy my Browning 1911 .22 A1. The SR22 has an aluminum slide, not zinc alloy like the P22. Also, the Ruger has the normal type magazine release, not the kind integral with the trigger guard. The P22 is very picky about ammo at first too. I fired 300+ rounds of CCI Mini Mags for break in and after that, my P22 would fire most anything; my main beef with the P22 was that it was not very accurate at all. I would definately go with the SR22 if those were my only choices. BTW, in over 1000 rounds through my little Browning, I have only had 3 fairlures to feed Federal Bulk ammo. It has fired everything else including CCI Mini Mags/Blazers, Winchester Bulk 333, and Remington Thunderbolts. I believe the feeding issue on those three cartridges was due to the ammo not the gun. The Browning does however, cost almost twice as much as the Ruger SR22.

I bought an SR22 and have been very happy with it. Over 1,500 rounds and not an issue. Also have a browning Buckmark Camper that has been great.
