Im looking at a Walther P-22 or a Ruger SR22 complaints or praisings on them?
Walther P22 is a nightmare from what I've seen, very particular about ammo brands and still iffy. Never seen anyone with an SR22. Most people with 22 pistols have a Ruger 22/45 and the verdict for those is great. Highly accurate, fixed barrel attributes to that. Blowback operated with no slide. Grip similar to 1911. My only gripe is the absence of high cap mags. 10rd is the most you'll get.
The 22/45 is a very nice pistol. They are accurate and very durable. I have no experience with the Charger but it is in the same price range. The Charger is 10/22 receiver with a 10" barrel with very nice laminate grips. The Charger is a true hunting pistol with plenty of high capacity magazines and other accessories available.
Unless you have a Glock, SR9 or a SR40 and you want a 22 to practice with either the 22/45 or the Charger is a better value.
Just put 500 rounds through new sr22 only 3 Ftf cycles great also has fixed barrel very nice have no complaints yet have only tried federal ammo though so will see what happens
Federal bulk is notorious for failing to fire. But I know what I am getting into when I buy 550 rounds for $18. Try mini-mags or stingers, you won't have any fail to fire. Personally I will clear a couple jams to save $20 or more. Not like a target is going to attack you or run away.
For what its worth my sister has a p22 and it did have a number of FTFeed problems with some old bulk ammo. I just lost my SR22 to my daughter, it was perfect with anything we shot in it. That little shooter was great fun..sniff..sniff, I miss it so. :-(
