A year ago, I put a deposit on a Sig P226 Elite Stainless and it hasn't come in yet. I've called the LGS a few times to make sure they didn't sell it out from under me but they cant really say when it'll arrive. I'm not mad, just trying to get an idea of when.
So recently, I call Sig and they say they're making them as fast as they can and the gun store should call their distributor. Is that where all gun stores get their guns from, besides trades? Do any of you work at gun stores or distributors? If Sig is still making the same amount, where are they all going?
I've been watching Gunbroker but only see a few used ones once in a while.
Do you guys think this happening with other brands as well?

fordracing - go down to Targetmaster on rt. 202 just above the Del. line on the north bound lanes behind the Goodwill!

They've got plenty of firearms in stock, plenty of ammo and good prices. They also offer a 3% discount for cash sales. Checkout their website at www.targetmaster.com, I just bought a Ruger SR45 on special this month for $399.99.

Distributors tend to favor ffls that place big orders. For example If one shop constantly buys ammo by the crate and wants 50 sigs they'll get their guns and ammo before the guy that ordered 10 sigs and only 1000 rounds of ammo. It's not only first come first serve it's also buy more get more. If your lgs refuses to accept that fact you could be waiting on your gun for a long time. And yes it isn't just sig it is other companies (glock,s&w) that can't produce enough, but it is still mainly a distributor to ffl based issue.

I have been playing a similar waiting game on a P224 SAS DAK in .357. I ordered it in January, and I am still waiting. As luck would have it, I have hit a bit of a cash crunch over the past few months, so the delay has been something of a blessing. Still, I am now beginning to wonder whether I will ever see that pistol.

Stopped at the shop this past weekend, and they went to Sigs website and they say they are expecting it to come in around Nov 10.

    So, crossing my fingers.

The stainless elites frames are made in Germany and that could be the reason it's taking a long time to get here. The building process, filling prior orders, and shipping them states side.
