1894 first generation Colt SAA black powder frame.

Needs a little work but I would too at this age. Does the hammer and or loading gate look period correct?

The hammer doesn't look correct to me, specifically the firing pin. I believe they were cone shaped, yours looks more chisel shaped.

I could be mistaken, as I know very little about these, or it could be the picture angle.

But I do know that, yes, it's supposed to have three screws.

Holy smokes you're right. Where are the screws on the other side?

I'll be returning this on the three day inspection guarantee.

Where does a guy find a SAA worth keeping that wont break the bank?

Your looking for affordable collector gun?? or a cowboy shooter than can take some pounding to for a life time +. Buget?? Buy a ruger bisley or sass and enjoy it. Most any old quality colt of s&w will cost you.

Was looking for a shooter with some history. Once I get my refund I will be back in the market.

May go with a pair of Evil Roys. Saw a pair of AWAs for sale which is an option as well. Thanks for the input.
