I'd suggest the Gun Shows, and to show up real early, even before they open the doors; that was my experience to get mine. Like you, I kept looking everywhere, LGS, online, Gun Shows, etc., until one Saturday morning I saw one one sitting on one of the tables just waiting for me to grab it. Keep on trying as the wait to get one of those Shields is well worth it.
Waiting for a shield
So I've been shopping around for a shield in 9mm for a while. (Just like everyone else in the country) They are impossible to find. I need some advice. Should I place a special order at my LGS for $420 (have to pay upfront) and just wait, or should I stick it out and shop online? Which do you think would be a faster way to get ahold of one? Thanks!

Well, my purchase took a different direction today. I got to hold both the shield and walther pps. The Walther felt much better in my hand and they had some in stock. There was a 6 month wait for the shield. So I walked out with a PPS. Thanks for the ideas!
Go with a Shield .40, they'll be coming out with after market .9 mm soon that will fit in the .40 won't fit in the 9mm
