Watching the series "Gangland" on Spike. Los Angeles, CA is the most culturally diverse city in America. It is also the gang capital of the WORLD. 40,000+ gang members in 900+ gangs. They all have very defined territories and kill each other to keep it, but now the violence is spilling out onto innocent, non-gang-related citizens. A Mexican gang will cruise its territory looking for ANY non-Mexican to kill: Asians, Caucasians, blacks are all fair targets. They commit murder like they are hunting for fun.

And why not? No law-abiding citizen who is not a friend of the Sheriff or a politician can get a carry permit (although I hear it's getting better), therefore they are just cattle to be slaughtered. Oh, did I mention the gangs were using guns to commit these killings? I wonder if they filled out a 4473 and got their carry permit.

Californians (I used to be one) should be damned mad. And the first thing to do is get Feinstein out of office.

Onenofnthe greatest thing about California is the acceptance. If you want to be Buddhist surfing wig-wearing attorney, so be it. Californians won't even raise a pierced eyebrow. But I would think that being targets would draw the line.

Wikipedia says 120,000 members plus since 2007. Maybe lots have been shot, and overall member #s are down.

In a Socialist Liberal society such as California gang members are victims. They are deprived by powerful profit motivated capitalist. Translated, capitalist the 42% of Americans who have full time employment and pay taxes. :(

Do not know when the show was produced, but I doubt California has done anything to reduce the numbers. The L.A. Riots showed who is really in control.

Ah, the oppressor elite! As soon as they figure out how to "spread the (capitalist) wealth," there won't be a reason for anyone to work anymore.

I doubt the census is precise.

Don't fool yourselves into thinking these infringements are limited to a few states. Every limitation imposed upon our rights is a precedent. The average citizen has an expectation of protection BY the government rather than FROM it. We are minorities. We live in a society of majority rule and stare decisis. Every restriction, regardless of jurisdiction, becomes another snowflake in the avalanche.

I have to agree that Kalifornia needs to revise their gun laws, I just don't think they will. I live in Florida not too far from where the Martin/zimmerman trial is ongoing. I am not too concerned about post trial violence as a great deal of us Floridians are armed and vigilent (at least I hope most are vigilent) shoud the outcome exonerate Zimmerman and the natives get restless. Suffice to say any trip to or through Sanford, FL will include at least one handgun.

Until they get rid of all the political correctness BS, and no profiling BS, it will go on and on.
