I turned a junked out British military Lee Enfield No.4 Mk1 rifle into a Mannlicher-stocked sporting rifle about 15 years ago. It has been my most used deer rifle since then. If I found one in similar shape these days I'd be more likely to find a military stock and restore it, but I'm still happy I built this one. In the video, I'll shoot it, and I'll show you how to convert the magazine and trigger guard to a sporting configuration. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-sG7voPK0k
I just couldn't bring myself to change mine. I think it's one of the prettiest guns ever made/modified/bubbaized. My friends say I'm crazy and they use to laugh at my No4, until they seen how it performs.
Thise my 303 it has hand made stock made by bishop the scope bipod and scope mount and stain I put on it
This is my SMLE it was a friends until he bent the barrel 90° and smashed the stock (don't ask). So I took it rebarreled it for 243 win and milled a custom low pro scope mouth out of a piece of angle iron. Slapped a Tupperware stock on it an a "OK" scope and it shoots. .5 oma with a few pet loads. I don't think there are Many if any other 243 smle's out there.
