The US Marines are now starting their major offensive in Helmand province in Afghanistan. May [insert your higher power of choice] be with them, and keep them safe. As the father of a former Marine (and Iraq veteran), I worry about them, and consider all Marines, each and every one, as members of my own family.

GO MARINES, and kick those sorry Taliban a$$es!

Also, keep safe and frosty, the SOF units that are already inserted, embedded and operating, waiting on them Marines, while continuing to gather the intel, to initiate that major offensive possible. ;)

Be safe and fight well to all my brothers in arms. Marines, Army, Air force, Navy, and especially all Allied support units. HOOAH!!

I've been watching the reports leading up to this. It seems that there is a large group of Afghan soldiers in on this operation as well.

Godspeed to them all. May the munisions find their mark and make lots of dead Taliban asswipes.

Does it bother anyone else that we know this? I saw the whole layout on the news, with Google Earth maps and discussion of the tactics that will be involved.

Some stuff, just maybe, we should keep quiet till it's done.

    Good luck, Marines. Godspeed.

    Wish them the best.
It is too bad that it has been advertised for over a week. There is nothing better than telling your opponent what you are going to do.
Would have rather known after the offensive was finished or had already started.
Don't recall the NVA reporting of building up for the Tet Offensive.
