I saw a rifle at the gun shop this Sat when I went to pick up my AR that caught my eye. At first I thought it was an SKS, looked like one from my point of view. When I picked it up, I realized it wasn't an SKS, it was way too heavy but had about the same overall length of my YUGO. I looked at the tag and it said "Herstnal" (I probably spelled it wrong but I think it's the same company that makes the M-249, M-240, Five seven pistol and others). The tag also said it was an 8mm and I know from the action it was Semi-auto. I didn't evestigate it any further cause the gun dealer had finnished my background check for my AR and I needed to close the deal, and pay my remaining balance. Also this rifle looked old and had a wood stock that was quite battered. If anyone has one or knows what I'm refering to, please inform me of this rifle.

The company is FN-Herstal in Belgium, the gun is the Mod.49 SAFN. It saw action with Belgium troops in Korea and was chambered in 7.92 Mauser originally and then in 7.62 NATO.
