    Yes.
On Black Friday, I ordered a completion kit from PSA which was their PTAC package with a .22lr conversion kit. That was about $500 when everything is done.

Yesterday I purchased a lower for $50 (blemished).

If I sell the .22 conversion kit for, let's say $100, then everything comes out to (approx.) $450.

I already have a rear sight carrying handle (2 as a matter of fact). Let the assembly begin!

It's great to know they're getting less expensive.

Would I sacrifice build quality, for the mere sake

    of specific dollar value?

    NO . . .

I have yet to have a single problem with any product from PSA. Everyone else seems to regard them fairly well also. I dont believe for a second that I sacrificed quality for the sake of pinching pennies as I would have bought any of the items at their normal value, they just happened to have some killer deals during that sale resulting in a quality rifle that I would run against any of the rifles I have owned from the "good companies".

This is not to be a "serious" life dependent firearm, but for plinking (and maybe hogs).

    I don't know, maybe it's just because I've already

gone down the milsurp trail. Tastes are different,

and become jaded. After all the "Spikes" this, and

"DPMS" that, and etc(fill in the blank with your

favorite AR parts supplier) there is only one Colt.

My experience is that I have been lucky in the order

in which I have obtained firearms. If I had acquired a

    beat-up, non-matching Mosin 91-30 for my first M/N,

I'd probably have a dozen of them, by now, in various

status of condition, and decay. But due to the fact that

I got a mint M44, for my first one, I was able to keep my

acquisitions down to 3 rifles, with no intentions to get any

    more.

Granted some of it is luck, but a lot of it is hard searching.

After acquiring my Colt AR, with that same luck, and hard

searching, I have the insight from experience, to limit

my search to a higher paradigm, for the next AR, be it a build,

or the purchase of a rifle in it's entirety.

I have had one psa bottom end ar plinker and one bought one better quality rifle. Decided to build one just the way I wanted it with the parts I wanted and that's it for ar's. Ended up with stock looking 16" but capable of sub moa with many different bullet weights and best ?? Nothing stands out as cool or pretty

I built my AR for $470 before shipping/ffl transfers. Got a $50 Anderson lower and a $415 parts kit from e-sarcoinc or something. Really great standard A2 style carbine. No problems with it yet!
