Just wanted to see what the consensus was on this? I thought it was an interesting concept and was thinking about picking one or two or more up. Thoughts?

I'm not a big zombie fan but I like the contrast, although I do like the walking dead show.

Not a zombie fan, but that grip is striking. Awesome contrast.

I thought a 1911 was pure skill. Do you need a rail? For what? That's the beauty of a 1911.

Don't get it. Would it still be a "zombie" gun if the grip was rosewood? It is a cool grip though.

And this zombie phase is getting stupid. I love the fiction, but if you think I'm paying hornady $1 extra for a box of critical defense with a green core and fancy box art, you are sorely friggin mistaken. CC that to mossberg and all the rest.

This one comes with the black grips as well so when the phase is over you can go "tactical" I guess :D

Personally, I will not buy anything that has anything to do with zombies if it is firearms related. The whole fad was childish from the start and IMO makes gun owners look like a bunch of pimple faced XBOX nerds.

I dunno. While I also won't support it, I can see why companies would rush to capitalize on it. Between "the walking dead" and the "face eater" guy, I lost count of all the acquaintances who asked me to "help them buy a gun"

I'm all for new shooters. But I did ask them "why do you want one?", etc. giving them an idea of the seriousness of gun ownership, CCW, etc.

It doesn't matter what bring them in. What DOES matter is we give these new shooters the guidance to be responsible gun owners...

Agreed we need new shooters, but we need ones that are going to take the hobby seriously. I know one guy, who I consider to be a firearms newb (though I am sure he does not), Guy just got his first gun not even a year ago and got all kinds of "zombie" ammo etc. I went shooting with him one time, he muzzle swept me a couple times and didn't seem to take to correction very well. Needless to say, I have not shot with him a second time. I kinda equate the zombie stuff as being on the same level as mall ninjas.

I think, unfortunately, what we used to joke about as a "what if" excuse for buying that next new product has become main stream. Everything cool does eventually and suffers for it. Zombies are no different.

Where black and green became the "official" zombie defense colors must have been a memo I missed while I was doing other life center stuff.

As for the 1911 in question. It looks like a bare bones model. Where are the specs? I don't mind it on the surface, and while it's not for me I am not going to poo-poo anyone buying the greatest handgun platform on the planet. :p

My problem is going to be if it's a bear bones RIA or Armscor with green grips and they want $1200 for it.
