    Hi this is trapper1 and I live in Canada. does anyone know if i can purchase a gun in the U.S.A. THANK YOU .

    Yes and no. You can't come down here, walk into a gun store, and walk out with one. But there are certain firearms that I'm sure meet import/export restrictions that you can order and have shipped to your local dealer.

    I'm with mountainman on this one, just do as the rest of us do and buy in country.......it also seems a little like a silly idea right now since them guys are in a panic right now and prices are on the high side of things.

    A US Firearms Dealer CAN make a sale to a non-resident alien under SOME circumstances- for example- you come down to North Dakota to go hunting, AND get a North Dakota Hunting License. However, if you are asking can you drive down to a US shop, pick out a gun, pay for it and leave? No.

    You may NOT acquire a firearm from a private party that is not a dealer.

    AFTER you make a purchase, you will have some issues to deal with re: Canadian Customs, importing firearms into Canada, etc. THAT you will need to discuss with Canada Customs. You may also need an export permit from the US.

    Well like it's been said, yes and no.

    It is possible to order things from the states and have it shipped to you. It is also possible to bring things above the border but it requires a heck of a lot of paperwork and processing fees. As far as purchase for use in the states, I don't think you can do that unless you have a dual-citizenship or a license in the states...

    If you know a store ahs something that you can't find up here, ask you local store if they can import it. Because they have the licenses and paperwork and whatnot already lined up they can do it faster and easier than you can probably.
