I want to remove the entire fron sight so i can slide the bayonet lug off, but is the front sight mount also soldered on?
Don't think so...but it may be pinned or staked.

The front sight base is a long sleeve which also incorporates the folding bayonet lug and is held in place with two pins, one at the rear of the sight base itself and one vertically at the bayonet lug. The forward section of the barrel is smaller in diameter forming a shoulder at the rear of the sleeve. The post and globe is the same type as the later wide Soviet assembly.

**** i see now the bayonet lug and front sight are all one piece, one sleeve, thanks. But still i can only see the pin on the bayonet lg on one side and i can get the front sight pin out how should i get the bayonet lug pin out. If you look at the pic without the pin hle there's a very feint circle but i don't want to break anything. I'll post a link to the pics under this.
