Anybody have one of these? Went to the big Gun Show in Houston yesterday, and this one just begged me to take it home to add to my WW2 collection. A Japanese battle rifle was in the long range plans for the "collection", this one just moved it forward a bit. From the markings it appears to be a late 1930's - early 1940's Kokura arsenal rifle. The Mum is still intact. Someone had expertly restored this rifle (which detracts from the collector's value and therefore it was relatively inexpensive), but the blueing is beautiful, and the wood looks near near new with only a few nicks. The barrel rifling is about average, not anywhere near perfect, but about like my K98k and that Mauser shoots fine at 100 yards with less than sharp rifling. I have already ordered 100 rounds of Hornady ammo, and a set of reloading dies. Any recommendations on re-load formulations?
