One is a model 110, someone installed sling swivel studs off center like a bubba, then removed them so it now has empty off center holes, is missing the front sight, has a rail type scope base mount front and rear of the receiver, other than age it looks to be in good condition mechanically. (it just looks old, with dings and scratches and worn finish). The other I'm told is a model 12, but wasn't able to find any markings anywhere, except the make. Much nicer than the 110 but the mount bases have been removed, iron sights are intact, stock in much better condition, sling swivel studs are properly located, and had such an intriguing barrel contour, about 1/3 of the way from receiver to muzzle is a fat ring around the barrel, not added on, but is part of the barrel contour. It also has seen some wear, they look like they could have belonged to the same owner at one point in time, but the second one is in better shape over all, and also appears to be mechanically sound. The 110 is $250 and the supposed model 12 is $265. Both are in .30-06, which is also something that leads me to believe they could have been owned by the same person. I'm not really in the market for a new bolt rifle, and hoping to lay my hands on my grandfather's model 70, but I can't help thinking about it. Opinions? Good buy or no? Which is the better buy? Would replacing the sight on the 110 be worth it? Use would be general purpose hunting (white tail), ranges likely to be 200 yards max or much less if hunting in brush, most likely to be used with iron sights. One big consideration is that I don't know if I will be hunting enough to justify it, this year so far I've only gotten in 5 days of hunting.
