In Germany, a hunter can only own two handguns at one time. I did a lot of research and relied on personal experience before making my decision. I chose a full size HK USP .40 to protect myself from four legged animals and to make a final shot. I chose a Sig Saeur p226r 9mm for two legged animals while at home and comp. shooting. If you could only have two handguns, what and why? Oh, we are able to own as many long guns as we want. I chose a CZ-550 synthetic in .308 and a Mossberg 590 mariner "special purpose". Yes, you can buy Mossberg over here, but they cost more. You don't want to know how much for a Remington 700 ....

Wow two handguns is a tough choice. The Sig is a great pick, after that I really couldn't choose only one more.

I'm not going to over think this, so I'll go with what comes to my mind first.

My 1911 - Come on... it's the greatest handgun ever made.

My S&W 17 - The other has to be a 22. I'm going to want something I can shoot economically and have fun with.

The H&K is a good choice. Spent a lot of time around the Air Marshal shooting ranges and found the 357 Sigs are a fine hand gun. But my second choice would be a Smith or Ruger revolver in .357mag.

My 1911 and my Smith and Wesson Model 28 .357. My Smith K-22 would be a close third.

Practically, the .357 and the .22 would make more sense, but I can't imagine being without a 1911, and think the .357 is more best all-around handgun.

I would have definitely gone with the Sig 226 essentially you can have multiple calibers by just swapping out barrels(357.,40.,9.)and with an exchange kit you can even go to 22lr.I think the next just to round it all off would be a 1911 in 45.

    I'd go with a 1911 and a 357 revolver.

Bummer about that law. You made a good choice with both guns though.
My list would be a Colt gold cup 1911 and a beretta 92fs

If I were in that situation, I would try to find a Peters Stahl (on the used market).
And get as many different calibers as I could.
It would cover everything from .22lr to the .45ACP using the same frame.

If I could only own two handguns, one would have to be a Glock 20, 10mm. I could easily be satisfied owning just that alone if need be.

For a second gun, a plinker , Ruger MKII would be fine.

I would go with my G27 for concealed carry ( if that is permitted there) and Super Blackhawk in .44 for hunting.

Excellent choices. I would choose SIG Sauer P226, 9MM and SIG Sauer P239 9MM.

Maybe one for general use and one for carry?

Me? My 1911, and a Smith and Wesson revolver, any model, any caliber, as long as it's one of their more classic styling, blued or stainless.
