My name was drawn out of the turkey hunting lottery this year and I have been looking at some shotguns for turkey, pheasant, & duck. I would like a 12 gauge 3.5" semi auto.
Some of the guns I have looked at include the:
    *Browning Gold ($800)
    *Remington 11-87 ($700)
    *Beretta Xtrema II ($1100)

I looked at some Benelli shot guns but they are too expensive.

How would you rate these guns and should I be looking at any other guns??

I have never owned a shotgun before and I really don't want to spend a lot of money on one because I bought a $3,000 Ed Brown deer hunting rifle last year.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I would not buy a new gun, on the shotgun having to shoot 3.5" shells for turkeys. That being said, I use 3.5" now just because my Benelli will chamber them. Lots of turkeys are killed every year with 2.75" and 3" shells. I never used the 3.5" until last spring and got along fine befor and after. Just suggesting this as it might open up some other models of guns for you. Good luck and more than likely turkey hunting could become one of your favorite hunts. The locating and calling add a great element to the bird hunt.
My next shotgun will be the lightest semi-auto I can find and still chamber 3" shells.
