how the heck is it a rusted up throw away H&R topper 12 gauge 28" barrel full choke can out shoot 15 other shotguns and win 3 of 10 money rounds on a 5" square target at 90 feet? I mean to tell ya he "peppered" these targets..

He knows the pattern of that gun, and is shooting to put the densest part of the pattern on the center of that itty bitty card.

You would not believe the pattern fron an old bolt action gun with a 32 inch full choke barrel! :p The boys with the new expensive autoloader quite laughing at mine after the first two sets.

I have 6 single barrel shotguns, two of which are older. A H&R .410 & Win. 370, the other 4 are not new, but newer Pardners & I would not trade a one of them for a shotgun costing 3 times as much.

I'm sure skill and weapon familiarity had something to do with it.

I will, on occasion, take an old J.C. Higgins bolt action .12 ga. to one of those wing-dings. I have really hurt some pride with her.:)

Don't discount luck either. I had a buddy with a Remington 1100 Magnum just like mine EXCEPT, mine threw tighter patterns, his would win turkey shoots like nothing I have ever seen before or since. With a 65% pattern on a good day, it would put about 15 pellets right on the point of aim and that little X. Mine was shooting 90%, but evenly dispersed.

My uncle had a 12ga bolt action goose gun with a 36" full choke barrel, and he just loved turkey shoots!:)

I tried turkey hunting with it one time when I was a kid. I was laying on one side of a log and a gobbler slipped in and walked up on the other side of the log. The barrel was so long that it stuck out past his head, and I couldn't get it back far enough to get his head on the right side of the barrel. I started to just hit the bird with it but then figured I would just let it take a few more steps and I'd just take it's head off, but somehow the bird figured out something was up and took off before I could get a shot off. I hadn't thought about that in years.:D

And my daddy had single shot with a 36" full choke barrel, but there wasn't a turkey shoot in the world worth the punishment you got from pulling that trigger!
