This is a gun show holster. I liked the workmanship of other holsters at the table. Watched the guy working, hard worker. Bought a few things from him. I like the guy and don't want to bash him at all.
When I finally got it home, I found that the holster was not quite set up the way I should have it. I should have recognized the issue while I was there and I'm sure he would have corrected it right away. I've contacted the holster maker, but haven't gotten a response yet. He stays mighty busy, which explains the non-response. So I'm looking into alternatives.
There are a couple related problems.
First, the belt clip is too short. It's about 3.5" tall. As you can see in the picture the gun rides a long ways above the top of the belt clip. When I put the holster on, the gun is poking me half way up my rib cage. I need a clip about 5" tall so that the entire holster and gun will go further down inside the waistband.
Second, due to the belt clip being so short, the trigger is not as well covered as I would like it. There is no exposure in front of the trigger. But, the entire space behind the trigger is accessible. The longer belt clip would cover this (at least on the side where the clip is).
I found a source of a clip like the one on my holster at Amazon.

I'd also like to figure out how to cover the space behind the trigger on the opposite side of the holster. See the back view photo. That seems to me to be the path where an edge of clothing could get in and tangle the trigger.
I may need to abandon this holster and simply look for another with better coverage. But I'm a tinkerer and would like to salvage this one.
Any suggestions?
