Is there excessive vertical play in the magazine fit?
Sure looks like that could create issues like you are describing. Time to talk to the manufacturer I think.I shoot primarily is CCI 40 gr. Standard velocity, Remington Golden 40 gr. and 36 gr, and Thunderbolts, and Federal Auto Match 40 gr.
I was making a very detailed cleaning and inspection this morning and discovered that the coating on the slide has chiped away on the bolt face. View attachment 252040 View attachment 252040
This appears to be the problem.
I was the same way, I could see treating it the way AR receivers are nitrated but this is more like cerakote it is just flaking off. Also the other 22Lr hand guns that have an aluminum or pot metal slides have a steal insert for the bolt face, extractor, and firing pin. I am a bit disappointed, this is not very good design.Just wondering...
Why would they coat the breech face when it wears away after time?
I believe that most firearms do not have a coating (except for oil.)
My Kadet will only work with Winchester MINI MAX.I have begun to have problems with the Kadet for my Shadow 2. When the second round gets lodged just starting into the chamber but apparently starts at too sharp of angle and jams. I thought the problem was the barrel but after changing to the treaded barrel the second round did the same thing. That gives me the indication that it may be the polymer mags. And sure enough the second mag was not doing it but after shooting several rounds it started with it also. I have done extensive cleaning but it still happens with the second round, making for a loss of confidence in CZs Kadet kit.
