Horrible tornado in OK. Nailed a school. Death toll is unknown. Pray for Moore OK..
It's very scary what mother nature can do. Definitely sending positive thoughts out.
3 month old and a 4 year old reported dead.
Unbelievable...check out this video. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/may/20/oklahoma-tornado-moore-live-blog
Thoughts and prayers for the folks in Moore OK. Please keep me and mine and all the other folks in Jefferson County Missouri and surrounding counties including the City of St. Louis in your thoughts we are under a tornado watch till 1 AM.
I watched it for 30 minutes live on Fox News. Knew people were dying as I was watching. Kinda sux.
What do we need ..? Better warning system..? A higher building code.re ? We can spend money on false causes and wars but not on the quality of life..?
Prayers sent to all in need..! Be wary of nature , in all it's beauty lurks danger!
I live in norman just south of Moore. They're saying its worse than the May 3, 1999 one we had that I was in. The devastation is unreal. The reports our news are saying so far is 3 dead from a 7-11 that got demolished, a man, woman and baby but I believe 4 schools got hit, including 2 elementary schools that were totally destroyed. Also a water treatment plant got hit too
We had about a 15 minute warning about it since it started out past Newcastle (which is about 5-8 miles from the outskirts of Moore) and almost destroyed where I work at by passing 1/8 mile away. The thing was just massive and I don't really think anything would of been able to really survive it..
KFOR is reporting that there may be as many as 24 children at the Plaza Towers Elementary School are dead.
And this is why I believe schools need actual storm shelters such as basements and not the hide under a desk in the classroom BS I went through
They just reported that they pulled 7 children dead from the school (they are saying the children drowned) and they think there are another 20-30 dead children in the school.
Reporting more severe weather in the OKC area, ShagNasty and anyone else that lives there keep your head down and be safe.
There is no stopping mother nature unfortunately. And she's a cold hearted *****.
I love tornados and the power they represent, they make me want to change majors to meteorology, but its stuff like this that will always make me remember just what that power actually holds and can do. It's extremely tragic.
They are saying debris from Moore is falling out of the sky in Tulsa
The warnings are definitely getting better. Structurally, there aint a hell of a lot that can be done ....
....cept for that. Unfortunately, we have a hard enough time keeping schools open and full of teachers, much less "bunkered." In a perfect world...yeah they'd all have bomb shelters underneath em. Priorities, people. Priorities.
Yeah there ain't much structurally you can do after a certain point. And you are correct on the hard time keeping schools open already. We need to focus more on schools than people do.
Yeah not much can stand up to 300+ mph winds.
They got *******s ****ing looting, if they catch them looting they ought to just kneel them down and a bullet to the back of the head!
I know if I had a store up there, I'd be there all night with a shotgun.. People like that disgust me
