Dog. You never have to relocate the bodies if you dispose of them right the first time. That reminds me.........

    All of the above plus:

1 Convincing your childre that they will make new friends, and that moving to somewhere else is not the end of the world. Going through this right now with my 15 year old .
2 Finding a new place that is up to the whole family's standards. Lets face it, we as men never buy a house for ourselves, we buy them for our wives. We would be just as happy living in a cave if it had power and cable.
3 You can always find the big things you own, but you almost always lose something (or things) small and necessary. Like all the hardware for the beds and shelving.

I like moving. I've done it my whole life. I couldn't imagine staying in one place forever. I don't think of it as a pain, I think of it as an adventure. I plan on moving out of Maine next year to Colorado, and I've only lived here since 2009.

Let me say at this point in my life I would like to move. I've lived in my house since 1986 and I would consider the process of moving as getting rid of all the crap that has accumulated in my garage, shed, basement, attic that just plain ole needs to be thrown out.

Let me just say moving a teenager is difficult. My family moved when I was 14......a couple months into my freshman year at high school. It was very difficult for me. I never felt like I fit in after that. All the other kids knew each other all their lives. They had history together. Yes, I did have some friends but I was kind of the shy type and never was quite able to jump in. I never dated and I never went to a Prom. It might very well have been my personality. I was kind of a loner and not really brave enough to try to join in other's circle of friends.

On the other hand, some kids do very well with a 'new beginning'. I'm betting your 15 year old is a girl, right? I wish you all the best of luck and I hope your 15 year old thrives and is happy in his/her new environment.

Don't make light of your teens feelings. Though we know, as adults, that it's not the end of the world it is extremely important to them at that age. Maybe you or your wife can problem solve with him/her or in some other way show that you know it's an important issue and you are very interested in helping your teen through this difficult time in his/her life. Teens don't see the world as adults do. We have to remember that. What is extremely important to them may be trivial to us but that doesn't make it any less stressful and important to that teen.

What the hell is wrong with you, Dog?
I feel sorry for your wife. :(

I havent moved all that much since the mid 80's when I finnished my Regular Army Stint and hope I dont have to anytime soon but the reason I would is because I live in the Bastian of Liberalism called NY State! The only reasons Im still here is my Kids, Grandkids, I love the beauty and grandeur and the 4 seasons.

What I remember hating about moving is I am forced to recognize my pack-rat mindset and recon with it. Last time was 7 years ago, so painfulllllllllll!!!!!!
