Just trying to see how many people can come up with. They have to be reliable though. Something cheap that you would put your life behind. If there is any.

I recently got a Springfield XD9 subcompact brand new for $499 (plus tax of course). I love it and have had absolutely no issues with it.

I recently bought an FNP-9 for my wife. She had some issues with it due to an apparently overly limp wrist, so I guess it's mine now...lol. Anyway, great pistol, cost me 400 bucks NIB out the door with 3 10 round mags and 2 16 round mags. Got the 10 round mags because I'm moving to Cali in 6 months.

Just got a quote from Bud's for the Beretta PX4 STORM 9mm 10RD $465 delivered
I have the Sub compact in 9mm and the full size in 45 ACP both have functioned flawlessly.
Outwardly they look similar but interestingly the 45 ACP has a rotating bolt and the 9mm does not.

I'd have to chime in with what has already been mentioned several times, the Ruger SR9 and SR9C pistols. My father-in-law owns both and has probably 1500 plus rounds through the SR9C in both range practice and in IDPA competition and the SR9 made it's first appearance in January's match and ran like a top; pretty good for a gun that came out of the box, was cleaned and lubed and then put straight into the mix.

If you can increase the $$$ a few, the CZ75 is a phenomenal gun. But about the time you get to the $550 mark you've hit Gen3 Glocks and the S&W M&P autos both of which I'm a huge fan and supporter of.

just to clarify, i think that is based on model <full size vs compact> and not caliber if my mind remembers correctly

    Smith & Wesson Model 5906.

Love it. Small, packs a punch, and straight as an arrow.

Or my personal favorite the Baby Desert Eagle II

    Damnit I love this gun

SR9C is a great gun...bought one for my sister as her first gun because I wanted her to have something with a manual safety. I was really shocked at how well this gun shot and would definitely own one.

I have to say the Glock is my favorite 9mm...especially at my LEO price which keeps it well under 500.
