I took my wife to the range yesterday, her first time firing a pistol of any kind. She handled the new Ruger SR40 pretty well (I'd like a gun that kicks less was her comment). I think an SR9-C might be her speed.

I thought she had a good first outing. She was continually missing high and right (too hard on the trigger squeeze I think), but I kept my mouth shut about that and will address next time. The only downside is, if she gets into shooting like I do, our ammo bill is gonna be a house payment!

I did that about a year ago with mine. I stated her pretty close to help build her confidence and she's done real well. She's still not real comfortable with them, but she's a lot more tolerant of them.
