Hey guys my buddy wants me to clean up an old shotgun for him it's pretty rough it covered in surface rust but not to much pitting so my question is, would it be possible to just re blue it or should I parkarize it. And where would be the best place to order the solution... Thanks

Have you considered using any of the spray on finishes?
They come in a variety of colors, and seem to last pretty well.

(Plus they are easier to apply than parkerize or re-blue)

I wouldn't do anything but oil the old gun. If gun has seen heavy use some rust is expected over the decades. Old guns with a new finish seldom look good.

Agreed. I have a Iver Johnson Champion .410 that I felt looked bad so I painstakingly refinished the old girl. It wasn't worth much to begin with but aside from lookin nice the value is nil due to my efforts. I would never sell the gun as it was my grandfathers and what I learned to shoot.
