Anybody tell me what size, thread type ect the screws are that are on the weaver mount that's on a Ruger 10-22?
I want to drill & tap to use the mount on nuther project & i need to git the correct size bit & tap-

    Bet thats it :)
Not a biggie but figured it'd be much easier to just drill 'n tap for the screws thats came with the mount-
    Thanx Hawg

I THINK I still have the one that came with mine and three screws. You got the fourth in the rear sight on that MKII Govmnt.

Will the screws used for a fixed mount .22lr rifle hold up under the stress of a slide mounted sight...would hate to have the screws sheer of and send the sight flying, not to mention the mess it would make of the holes.

    I have no idea :D
Would'nt use this stuff on any project of real importance -
The little 9x18 has some recoil of course but not harsh.
Just something to do with extra parts on these cold days

They seem to be good quality screws and big enough they just do fit the holes on a set of weaver scope bases I had on a hot loaded 30-06. I realize that's not the same stress as on a slide mounted sight but I doubt the screws on most custom sights are any bigger/stronger.

four 6-48 screws will hold plenty, don't forget to clean out the holes & locktite your screws. I broke my last crappy red-dot sight after the screws came just a bit loose
