I was going to go Coyote hunting last night. I went to grab my AR and it seems I lost my 5 round mag. I searched everywhere. It is always in the same pocket in my case. So instead of hunting, I had to find a 5rnd mag. Of course nothing local, so I ordered on line. Damb thing cost $5.00 more than a Tapco 30rnd mag. Stupid law for varmint hunting, but oh well. I would have used my AK, but I need to zero it again. Did some work on the sight base. 5 round Sar3 mags cost me $4.00 ea. Even though they are .223, they function fine w/ 5 rounds of 5.45. I have 2. They have the same follower as my standard 5.45x39 74 mags.

I'm not familiar with NH hunting laws, but couldn't you just whittle out a wood block to slip in under the magazine spring? I've still got some factory Colt spring steel blocks, but I think those only cut a 20rd mag to a 10rd IIRC.

That sucks, but be glad at least you can use your AR. We're not allowed to use any semi-auto rifles or pistols for hunting in PA:eek:
Cant even legally use my 10-22 for squirrel:mad:

If you could use the 10/22 they would be safer!:D
It is the only use I have for my DCM these days.

Come to Texas. There are NO restrictions on caliber or capacity for varmint hunting. 30 rounders for Yotes and belt fed full autos for hogs, its all good.

All hunting rifles are restricted to a 5 round mag. If you have a tube fed shotgun, that is also limited to 5 rounds, you need a plug. Tube fed .22's and rifles like the Winchester 92 that use a pistol cartridge are in a different catagory. We have big coyotes up here. DNA tests show they are a hybrid of Quebec wolf and coyote. 65lb is not uncommon, although most are 40..45lb.
