In a society with an intolerant oppressive government that controls what's ok to say and what's not, would you expect it to be politically correct for there to be an amendment that guarantees the people the right to be able to match them in military power? People say that the Second amendment is no longer relevant and that we should repeal it, but in the words of Thomas Jefferson "The beauty of the Second amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it" so I'm pretty sure Thomas Jefferson would say that the second was needed now. And here is my question for those who think it is not relevant, I'm going to give some modern examples of times when it was necessary ere n the U.S. The Japanese internment camps, all those peaceful protests during the civil rights movement where cops and national guard shot innocent people, and all the people beaten killed and robbed by police in Katrina, did they not have the right to defend themselves?
