I've been looking for a good bolt rifle in .308 recently. Any idea if they have a model with a stainless bbl?
Thanks a lot ill post back hopefully tomorrow!EMan2008 said:If you happen to pickup this rifle let me know what you think!
I think they bash it because some do not function properly. I went to the range with a guy and his would jam up after he shot it. Basically he couldn't get the bolt all the way back the cartridge wouldn't come out.People bash the 770 Remington all the time. I have no problems hitting a golf ball with a 770 at 200 yards. I think most of the haters have never fired the weapon they are running down. If the haters have fired it they couldn't hit the broadside of a barn from the inside. So they need to justify the $1000 bucks they spent trying to compensate for their lack of skill.
U paid $300 for a used savage axis??? Why the hell did u do that they are 289.99$ bran new on the shelf in 308 coveys guns has all the calibers same price.I am thoroughly astounded by the level of precision that this rifle delivers! I picked it up second hand for 300 bucks at a gun show last month in.308 and just slapped a SS 20x42 Scope on it yesterday. Stepped out behind the house and was able to consistently hit cinder block halves at 500 yards all day! I even hear that Timney has produced an accutrigger variant for the Axis for around a hundred bucks! Thinking about picking it up and stepping this rifles game up even further! I figured with a lot of peoe wondering about Savage Axis rifles on the net i would put someone's mind at ease.Anyone else have any thoughts on this bargain rifle?
They do offer it in different packages tho an the prices goes up some, most they are at coveys is 359.99 for the scoped model.I am thoroughly astounded by the level of precision that this rifle delivers! That may be true for some people. I paid $350 for a 770 with a scope in 270 win. I later paid $440 for a 700 in a 270 win. Any extra money I paid was for the best optics I could afford. Still way below $1000.People bash the 770 Remington all the time. I have no problems hitting a golf ball with a 770 at 200 yards. Just dont try to remove the recoil pad the damn tab brakes right off an u have a square hole in the top of the stock. I have a axis 223 in the truck it gets the hell bounced out of it every day. Shoots great the stock is so cheap it begs me for money but its always ready to pop a yote. An yes its black on black an was $269.99 new in box.I picked up a 308 with threaded barrel at academy a month or so ago for $269 and was I impressed. It shoots great and just feels good.
You liberal pos trying to say u own a gun, but on other threads u post how bad they are an that we shouldnt have them, get the hell gone ya pos. Every body report this damn troll.I have the axis XP in .30-06 and it came with a lowed sportsman Bushnell 3-9x40mm scope and find no issues with it. I do have a Remington 700 which I put the Bushnell on and found the weight overall of the savage to be lighter than the Remington which I'll enjoy when I go deer hunting.
