I finally got to watch the movie The Road. It was a dark dark movie. Once you watch this movie your sense of urgency to be prepared will be heightened. I watched this last night and have thought about it all day long. I will be getting preparations for survival ready for my truck, the wifes car and my work. I want to be prepared so that among survival I can protect myself and those I love from the morbid things that can come from a major disaster.

I haven't seen the movie, but what sort of things are you prepping?

As a "consumable" ammo is the long term key. Every SHTF scenario and story features the rarity of ammo. It will be the ultimate barter item. With ammo, comes security.

    Ballistic wampum.

It's been long proposed that .22LR ammo is probably going to be one of the more hotly traded items. It serves a bunch of uses and you can carry a bunch of it without really weighing yourself down.

I didn't like The Road. The movie was too dark, shot too much at night and was just slow. Viggo is getting more and more weird as his career advances. Anyone see Eastern Promises??

I will be getting a 22 rifle set up as I have a Walther p22 already. Like Dill said its light and you can carry a ton of it.
Now my gripe is they were on the east coast and yet when they came to the beach they were right on my doorstep. The ship remains on the beach are that of the Peter Iredale. A Canadian ship. The beach is located in Fort Stevens State Park and is about 15 minutes from me. Then they show him on the board walk, damn hes quick. Anywho it was way too dark and I'm still thinking about it.

I read the book and watched the movie I was glad to see that they followed the book pretty closely. I thought they both were good imo.
