so the wife and i driving home just now from the takenbake pizza place and we come across a very sick possibly rabid racoon in the road. being in my transam i didnt want to ruin my car. too low to the ground hitting it.

so i caled the sheriff dept and they sent out a deputy and a local PD officer. we pointed them in the right direction they found the racoon and we parted ways at that point. as we were turning around we heard "POP" ok they get him.... "POP" ok they got him now then "POP" ok we stop and are laughing so hard then "POP" that sick racoon sure put up a great fight!!

i love our sherrif dept. im sure they thought the thing would be gone when they showed up. little did they realize the tough fight in store!!

in all seriousness, not many Police agencies would make time or effort for a sick animal call and actually do something about it in a timely manner. hats off to the racine sheriff dept and burlington PD.

Anything rabid is super hard to kill, I've been told. Like somebody on PCP, which is also very hard to kill, as I've been told. (Stories were told by the same guy, incidentally.) They just refuse to die, then come after you.

Kind of like the dogs in Resident Evil. Damn things just won't die.

It is in the best interest of the community for the police department to kill sick animals. The sooner a rabid or distemper coon is killed, the safer the residents and local pets are.

Maybe those cops just didn't know bullet placement?
