    Actually, Illinois is a "shall issue" state. If you pass the course and the BGC, you get your license. Unless you do something to draw negative attention (like commit a felony or institutionalize yourself) you should have little to worry about.

    It means a meaningless bill was voted upon unanimously by both the Illinois house and the senate, which will accomplish absolutely nothing. All the language in the bill is absolutely redundant. The only thing this bill does, that is not redundant, is cause the clerk of the court to report zero notices if there are zero notices.

    This bill is a feel good piece of legislation so the law makers can pat themselves on the back and say they are doing something about"gun violence", their word not mine.
