Maybe I should have posted this somewhere else but I wanted to warn as many as I could. I hate to be the one to give this news. I don't take my responsibilities lightly.

My life makes sense now as I look for purpose in the 52 years on this earth. Forwarding this link completes my lifes work.

I have never hunted before and I don't know if I'd be any good at it but I am going to begin hog hunting so I can make my own bacon and I will sell it on the black market if necessary. Let's see, I a .22 pistol, a .380 pocket gun and a .357 magnum revolver. I don't think any of those are good for hunting hogs. Hmmmmm ..........

Seriously? I don't plan on shooting it point blank in the head. What distance could I kill a hog with a .357?
Ruger GP100, 6" barrel, stainless. She is a beauty and was my first gun.

    Peeeerfect!! I looove rugers.
If you can make the shot a hot 357 fmj to the brain would kill it at 80-100 yards.
To be safe i would stick at 50-60 yard body shots with a slower expanding ammo. Why? So the round penetrates the hogs thick skin and then expands, destroying the vitals.

The thing is I don't think I'm that good a shot and I have a terrible fear of wounding an animal then not being able to find it. It would not be a good situation for me.

I am sure you have heard it before but. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!
If you really aren't comfortably using the 357 do you have any centerfire rifles or shotguns?

I am comfortable using my .357. I just don't trust myself to hunt. I don't have any centerfire rifles or any shotguns.

Wild hog won't make bacon... Sorry guys, too tough and gamey. Maybe if you caught one and fattened it up...

As for me, my doctor happens to own a farm...
    LMAO at that!

If you aren't comfortable doing it, than don't.
Better to not hunt than to be so nervous you just wound it.
Then you have a wounded animal on the run, or a pissed off hog headed your way.

Not too many people could or would take that shot. Do hunting ethics play into wild hog hunting ? Or is it, kill by any means available?

I would only hunt if someone very experienced went with me and backed up my shots.

If you run dogs, any of those will do the job. We use a .22 behind the ear, works every time :) and they are delicious when smoked whole over apple wood.

Hog hunting is kill by any means necessary. Google what those things have done to Hawaii. Hogs need to go.
Not to mention they played a HUGE part in eradicating native Americans.

I'm a kojack-er also. You're too young to get the full context of the pun I just made. Never mind wasn't funny.
