Opinions please. A fad round that will fade away? Or one that will stick around and become more popular?

I think it's neat and fun to shoot. I shot a little over 100 rounds through a friend's. Reliability was questionable, but we think that was due to a poor quality factory mag. It functioned 100%, even with steel case ammo, when shooting 9mm with a Kimber 9mm mag.

I want to buy a 9mm/22 tcm 1911 for my birthday. Just don't want to not to be able to get new ammo to replace worn brass down the road.

I'm pretty sure you can make cases from .223 cases. Let me ask my friend, I'm pretty sure he has done it.

I was mistaken. He told me he could do it but has yet to because he has 100s of pieces of factory brass. He also says there is a jig for it but they seem to stay out of stock.

That's the exact model my friend has. It's a good pistol, just make sure the factory mag works reliably. We also found out aftermarket 9mm mags won't work with the TCM as it's too long due to the spacer that exists at the rear of 9mm 1911 mags. I theorize .38 super mags would work but we haven't been able to test that thus far.
On RI 10mm 1911s, I shot the same friend's commander sized 10mm and it's very nice and pleasant.

I shoot and reload for 22 TCM and it is a great little round to shoot. I even for a moment thought about it as an EDC but it has a major drawback. It is LOUD; shooting it indoors without hearing protection is sure to cause some serious hearing loss.

As far as 38 super mags go; yes they will work for 22 TCM (have not tried them for 9mm as I don't own a 9mm barrel for mine). The feed lips on a 22 TCM mag are slightly shorter than 38 super so a little trimming is in order although I have read of some people using them without modification. I have not tried that but I have converted a half dozen 38 super mags to 22 TCM.

22 TCM also does a decent job of defeating soft body armor and mild steel plate.

    20080900.jpeg.jpg iBolt action Ruger American?
    A Savage A-.22TCM delayed blowback semi-auto rifle?
Henry single shot break action rifle?
If they can sell this light varmit round with a few different bullet choices this might take off.

Too bad Marlins model 62 levermatic couldnt be used as a building block for a custom lever rifle, its already chambered in .256 win mag.
