ouch, didn't realize AK's kick that hard.

i don't bruise easily but for some reason my shoulder does. even if it doesn't hurt, it'll still turn black & blue.

I put a box of 7 1/2 shot through my JC Higgins 12 gauge right after I bought it & I ended up with a bruise on my shoulder the size of a cereal bowl

I was confused because someone else's armpit is there?

Anyway, if I may suggest, "chest" your AK rather than shoulder it in the crease.

The problem is that you're lefthanded. Can't get tight on the gun because of the brass flying in front of your face.

I'm just kidding. Half a case of anything above .22 is going to leave a bruise.

Bingo... I get those from a day of shouldering my AR which kicks a lot less than my AK.

Don't you guys use recoil pads? Not only do I have Pads on Both 12Ga.'s and all 4 cf Rifles, but I use a Shoulder pad... Only the 30 cal's hurt tho...

Butt stock needs to be closer to the center line of your body

Nope! Firing the Mossberg .30-06 180 grain or the 12 gauge using 3" Magnum slugs or Buckshot. :D

You know that dish towel you swiped from the kitchen to wipe your brow with when sweating?

It sure makes a good cushion when folded correctly a placed between the shoulder and gun stock.

As long as I use a REAL snug grip, I don't usually get bruises.

    Except from this one-

    Remington 600.jpg

Remington 600. .308 Winchester. All 6 lbs of it.

THAT one puts it's mark on you. Pad or no pad.

The only gun I ever let bruise me was the 378 Weatherby mag and it was my cheekbone not my shoulder. On the first shot I was upset at myself for not holding on to it but it was near dead center! The second shot caught the paper barely the third shot hash't come down yet! Back when I was a recoil junky I fired many big bores but the 378 Weatherby was just vicious!
