I have been seeing a PSA about a test of the emergency broadcast system scheduled for Nov. 9 at 3 pm eastern time. And then I hear a carrier size asteroid is going to pass between the moon and earth on the 8th and 9th.

Maybe Mother Nature is about to clean house??

Man, this tin foil hat is hot.

If it should happen to hit the earth none of us will have anything to worry about.

Well yeah, there’s the flying rock, but there also been an increase in civil and un-civil unrest around the world lately, not to mention a whole string of natural disturbances that just seem to keep coming. I’m guessing the Voice of Authority thinks maybe it should clear it’s throat.

Next season on The Discovery Channel, "Flying Monkey Miners, out to get the silver linings...".

I wonder, would the rock be a "planet killer" if it hit or just something to make a big earthquake and tidal wave. Would it fill the air with dust or steam, blocking sunlight?

Dude, there's this video game coming out midnight of the 11th, that I've been looking forward to for almost a year now. I really hope I get the chance to play it. But if that big ole rock hits us, I guess your right, at that point I really won't give a damn.

They need to test it so right before this coming election when it is clear
that the Conservatives will gain control in both houses congress and the
White House that the Obamination can declare martial law...

Now that is a safe bet. If it misses you win and can collect. If it hits you wont have to pay.

This test is a good thing; we would certainly hate to see Obama take over and not everyone get the word..............

It used to be optional for stations to carry the nationwide test, as long as they conducted their own tests on a regular basis. This one is not optional. It's mandatory for everyone, and it's lasting over 3 minutes which is unheard of.

    Very curious indeed.

On the other hand, we've never been informed in advance of any test, so why this one? Why would you want to inform in advance to the point where everyone is sick of hearing about it and no one will actually be watching the test?

On the third hand....does anyone remember the term Blip-Verts??

Didn't they screw up the metric conversion and crash a probe into Mars a few years ago?
