Okay so I just sent off my taxes and am getting a little over 800 back. I've narrowed it down to 3 things I need ( I really just want them)

    1) a new scope for my Model 10 .308

    2) a new handgun. I really want to branch my collection back out and love the M&P series

    3) a performance chip for my car ( 2008 Audi S4)

What would you choose and why?

The chip or handgun wouldn't take up all of the refund and would leave my some play money but the scope would take it all

I'd be in for #2. I can't see myself spending $800 on a scope. #3 wouldn't even be an option for me. I'm just fine with driving my cars stock.

What's on your .308 now? Could you sell it off and raise enough money to buy a lower priced better scope and the pistol?

Follow your instincts my friend and get an M&P. I have several and love them.

Part is going to my IRA. The other part is going for some glass on my AR10.

Just make sure you invest in something that will have value, long after it's lost some value in your eyes.

The price of a firearm or scope ( in good condition) will never go to zero.

I would get the M&P. maybe an accessory or two and put the rest in the bank.

Well I think I ended up making my decision without actually knowing I did. I was scrolling through armslist last night to see what was out there just for fun and they had a few Garands up for sale. The cheapest I saw was 1100 I think but from the pictures, it looked in really nice condition. Anyways, if its hopefully still up, and I'll have the extra money saved, I'll be getting that lil guy. The first thing I would do is find out why I paid too much in taxes. Loaning Obama your money at no interest is never a good idea.:(

I "was"... right up until I saw the accountant today. So much for the target pistol, precious metals, mods for the car, anything :(

Ask the accountant how to plan for next year; it's a LOT easier to change next year's tax bill if you start today.

Get the scope. When you buy a quality optic, it's a lifetime investment.

we planned for this year, but thanks to a minor misunderstanding, it turned into a huge nut :(
