I just thought I would let you know this morning I went down to my local club (Euro Tir) and one of the Brits that run it has just taken possession of a Taurus PT 1911A1. It was only one of I think 7 that have been brought into France. What an excellent piece of kit! The fit and finish was superb and at 25 metres it shot right on the money.

If I handn't got my Gold Cup and wasn't up to my limit on Cat. 1 firearms I would be very tempted......

heard good things about Taurus 1911

Thanks for the update Boris, I am looking for a new 1911 so as to have another shot at the 45ACP. I have 1911s in 9 x 23, 10mm, and 9mm. I really like the 9 x 23. It is my primary carry arm. Powerful, fast & flat shooting, and my most accurate semi-auto handgun.

A shopping I shall go!

Yes, for a long while I had a Colt Commander Lightweight in 38 Super (showing my age), I carried it on a number of trips to South Africa, and shot it in early practical competition before it went crazy. I remember trading it because I thought it was developing a crack on the frame. I was told later that it was the nickle finishing lifting.......

The Taurus impressed me because of the overall quality and fit......:)

I too have been impressed with the changes to the Taurus line since they went to a full CNC manufacturing facility anad changed their "rep".

I am very happy to hear that you were impressed with their offering.

Thank you for the report. I am glad to hear that the impression I got from the people at the booth @ the SHOT show and what I was able to discern from a complete strip down on a sanitized booth resulted to a real world results.

One thing to keep in mind for anyone reading this report for the first time is that Taurus offers a true lifetime warranty.

Thank you for the post Boris.
