    Any firearm can jam,
be more accurate than the shooter,
be shot fast and stay on target,
    and break down.

From what I've seen of Taurus, their 1911 platform handguns seem pretty good for the price.

I personally have not had any problems with mine. Like Danf_FL said they all can jam.

The M&P 40 that I bought used I've personally put 1500 rounds through it. I have no idea much it was shot before I owned it, but I've had zero issues. I feel like I got a bargain at $375.

Wow, my fault I've been reading for too long. Thought that I was on a different thread.:D

I haven't had any problems with mine...2K plus through it.
Goes to the range with me every time I go and sits on the nightstand as my HD weapon in between.

Functionally, I have never had any problems with mine. I've got about 4500 rounds through mine and I use it pretty rough. If you're looking for a good budget 1911, I would say that the Taurus is a very good option. This thread might be best served in the 1911 sub-forum.

That is a great looking gun and according to your above quote sounds like a great shooting one also.

    I have had Glocks & 1911's love both but I need a .45 1911.

Just one question sir,"Where did the comp come from?"

Not sure where the poster got his comp, but it looks to be an aftermarket comp/barrel bushing combo and you can get those from just about any parts retailer, MidwayUSA, Brownells, Cheaper Than Dirt, and probably a bunch of other places.
