Snubbies are not easy to shoot well and learning to control the DA trigger pull on a revolver takes time and LOTS of practice. I suggest you spend a lot of time dry firing the gun while making sure the sight picture does not change. Balancing a coin on top of the barrel will help you a lot in making sure you're holding steady during the long trigger pull. I have no idea if Taurus revolvers can be dry fired without snap caps - perhaps someone else knows that answer. A side benefit of lots of dry firing is that it will generally smooth out the action of the revolver as well.

Also know that snubbies are not designed to be long range guns - they are for up close & personal type shooting. I rarely shoot mine at distances over 20 feet...

    Thumbs up on NGIB's response.
    Also, try this,
watch the front sight as you release the trigger. Any sudden release will upset the sight picture.

I agree with the first 2 posts and just wanted to talk about dry fire of the 605. All current Taurus revolvers have a transfer bar action and are safe to dry fire. I have about 10 Taurus revolvers and have dry fired them all to help break in the triggers and have had no issues. Good luck with your new revolver.
