I've got a very nice Taurus 1911 with Heinie straight 8 sights that I just cannot get used to. Do you guys know if anyone offers a three dot set up for the Taurus?

Not sure what dovetail cut they use but I'd check Dawson Precision. If they are not night sights, you can do what I did and black out the dot on the rear sight and widen the rear notch a bit...

    +1 for the Novak's Canebrake.

I've got a set of fiber optic 3-dot on my Taurus 1911.
Be warned though, you may have to file on them to get them to fit your particular cut since the sights are slightly oversized to accomidate for variances.

I love the straight 8 sights. For me it's much easier to stack 2 dots than line up three. Especially on a weapon that has a front blade that allows light on either side of therear sight. It's just too easy to corner your sights when trying to acquire a sight picture quickly. I've actually painted up sights to be somewhat like the Heinie sights. It did wonders for my accuracy when I'm doing timed drills.

You can send your slide in to them for install.

Unless you have the sight tool, its the only way to go!

My front sight went in without problems but the back sight needed fitting, I managed with an offset triangle file from Brownells. I figured it was cheaper and quicker than sending off my slide :D
