im going to get a tapco stock for my sks and i have two questions.

one once mounted cant you still use the normal sks sights well enough? i have an tapco stock for my ruger 10/22 and i know that the top picatinny rail makes it so you cannot use rifles original sights. i did not know if this was the same with the sks or not.

secondly does anyone know a good red dot or reflex style sight that is low profile, not too expensive, will mount on the front top of the tapco stock and stand up to the recoil.

    any help will be appreciated

I have the tapco stock on my norinco SKS, and the stock sights worked fine. I did change the rear to a "techsight" (aftermarket "peep sight") long after the stock swap.
