Discuss which guns are well made, and the accessories that can go with them. Clear up the confusion on some products designed for airsoft or pellet guns that would break on a .22

Smith & Wesson M&P AR15-22. True AR 2 piece design. Bolt hold open and release actually works unlike some other designs. It is my more fun than a barrel of monkeys gun, and it's the gun that everyone wants to shoot when we get a crowd together.

You can use any of your favorite AR furniture that you like.

Scopes/Reddot sights meant for pellet guns have a marked tendancy to not do well in the Long-Term on rimfire equipment. And vice-versa...
For a short while, most of it holds up rather well...but will eventually fail due to the different stress profiles.

Stocks are interchangable, as long as you take the time to bed them...but that should be said for any Stock switch...
Defcon has had much fun sticking 1022's, Marlin 795's & Marlin XT-series rifles into airsoft stocks :)

Oddly, the B-square one-piece scope ring set is one piece that has crossed over rather well...
it is quickly becoming the main scope-holder for many rimfire rifles with 3/8" accessory rails!

On the subject of Tactical .22's...technically, there is no such thing...as tactically the .22lr is not what anyone in their right mind would pick to defend with,
given almost any other caliber as choice.

But given that someone would want to choose that platform...some MFR's have made it possible to at least put up a worthwhile fight ;)

Calico M-100 Tactical...which has 100-rounds per mag capability, a quad-rail forearm, and folding stock...
if you MUST use .22lr as a defense weapon, at least the mag capability means one could hold off several people and do serious damage.

Also comes without the quad-rail (original 1990's form, model not included)

And the Calico M-110 pistol also has 100-rd mags...and for fun, a laser was put on...

    Anything less than a 100-rd mag of .22lr ain't quite enough...IMHO
If you are going to use an inferior man-stopping caliber, best to use a LOT of it!!

At least if you burn thru a 100-rd mag...anyone that ain't hit will be thinking seriously about where the closest exit is...LOL

Best thing about the Calico's...they also come in 9mm!!
They've been talking about the .40 version for several years now...the update on the website sez late 2012...

    I have a Mossberg 715T tactical .22
The stock is a very strong plastic that has withstood many violent drops
The main perk of it is it only costs $225-$250!
Most others cost in the range of $400-$600
It comes with a 25 round clip, and I have shot a few thousand rounds without any problems
If you are just getting into shooting it is great!

I love my HK MP5 SD. You can't put a quadrail on this model. It's a lot of fun to shoot. Two pins and you can drop the lower. It is made by Walther, Imported by Umarex, officially licensed by HK as a replica.

I don't think that anyone saying tactical is refering to using it in a tactical situation. They are saying it as in the look or style of it.

Just got back from the range. My wife and I put a few hundred rounds through the S&W M&P 15-22. It has a 1.5-6x scope on a high rail and a laser. Too bright for the laser but the top of the bottom post is dead on at 7 yards. Shooting from 7 yards to 30 yards. Center of cross hair at 30 yards. No jams and 1 bad primer. It fired after being reloaded. I like the S&W a lot better than the 10-22 which is a good rifle. The S&W has run ammo that would not function in the 10-22.

Israeli's use 'em for Tactical Crowd Control...they spray crowds of Palestinian protesters with .22lr's to disperse 'em...
they consider it nicer than using 9mm or .308 ;)
