not listed on their website. if they do, must be really new. i haven't heard of RRA making a shotgun, and the only new entry other than the AR's is a new polymer 1911 style pistol.

If you want a tactical shotgun, get a Benelli M-2 or M-4.

    The Rolls Royce of shotguns.:):)

I've been warned away from Stoeger for quality concerns pretty consistantly -- break a firing pin when ya need it and you may be doomed.

I only have a few hundred rounds through my M2000 Stoeger, but it is GTG.

Me personally would rather point you at an 870 over the 887.

is it possible that he has a Rock Island shotgun? cuz they make a tactical style 12 gauge. if that's what it is, set him straight & tell him the 2 companies are not the same

I've had an 870 for years, still do, but now carry my 887 daily on warrants and in other tactical situations. This scattergun has yet to fail me on the range or the street.

The 887 is hands down the hardest kicking 3 1/2 I've ever shot....

I have fired the 3 1/2 several times and did not experience that sensation, not saying you didn't. If it is your gun you may consider a Blackhawk Spec Ops stock. For tactical, self and home defense the 3 1/2 is expensive overkill, unless of course a grizzly is kickin in your front door. In all seriousness though, a 2 3/4 00 or slug are enough to neutralize a human threat, without over concern of what may lie behind your intended target.

Slug will go thru and thru, I think a high brass number 4 is plenty. 00 is a bit much but I do have it loaded in 2 3/4 12g at home.
