I see that J&G has a new large shipment of surplus .30-06 again. I got 2000 rounds from them a while back and it is good ammo.

Do you happen to know if it is ammunition that would be suitable for the M-1 Garand. They technically have a lessor pressure round requirement or one could possibly damage an Operating Rod which is not cheap to replace. I just purchased some from Midway USA specified for the M1 Garand. Do you know anything or can find the specifications on these rounds! Would like to get some more for personal inventory if they are compatible?

I dont know, you would have to call J&G on that, it is Korean, so I suspect that it is garand ammo. I got 2000 rounds from them a while back and it came in clips..........

I put an adjustable gas plug in mine . The plug is cheap and very good insurance . I,m thinking it cost me 30 bucks .
Now I can shoot any thing I got and be safe . Got from Midway

You guys should be careful. In the early to mid 2000's there was a rash of bad Korean Ammo being sold. This link details that info pretty clearly. http://pnwbands.com/m1garand/PS75.html I would stay away from the suspect head stamps listed there.

    Be careful out there

Also keep in mind the KA ammo is corrosive and you should clean your rifle after each range session accordingly. Don't forget the gas system. ;)

If it is M2 ball, it is fine. They advertize as Korean M2 Ball. They needed something for the Million M1 Garands they have.

Maybe I'm wrong but I was looking at the prices for the 30-06 surplus and to me it hardly seemed worth it. I added it up and it came out to be about 13 dollars per 20 rounds. I can buy brand new 30-06 ammo at walmart for 14 dollars per box. I'm talking about the cheap federal ammunition which shoots in my 30-06 fine.

Hey Bill Thx for the tip on J&G will check it out. When buying Federal or any other modern ammo for you Garand use some caution. These old girls are 70 year old weapons in some cases. The new high pressure ammo can hammer a crack in you rear reciever or damage you OP rods. Stay with 150 grs. or lighter Ctgs. The 180 grs hunting ammo can wreck your M1.

The ammo I got from them was boxer primed non corrosive, in en-bloc clips. That was a year or so ago, I dont know what this ammo is, you would have to call them, but surplus .30-06 ammo isnt as readily available as it once was, so I was just calling your attention to it. You would need to phone them and ask them about it.

Yes that was the Greek Ammo very good stuff. The brass was very good. It was very popular at the Vintage Military Rifle matches. Problem is, its all gone.:(
