This time of year, when the weather begins to warm and my wardrobe shifts from winter / spring, to summer, my age old dilemma once again bugs me; that being summertime carry. For the past few years, having re-discovered revolvers, I have carried my S&W 642, stainless/alloy Air weight snubby, loaded with Hornady Critical Defense .38 spl. +P. I put it in a pocket holster and carry it in my right front pants pocket, or ankle rig. My problem has been, where to put the speed loaders / speed strips. When wearing cargo pants, not a problem. Bluejeans with fewer pockets and a generally tighter fit, can be a problem. Speed loader carriers are a bit too bulky, so I sometimes load a speed strip and carry it in a shirt pocket, but not very securely. This may not be new to some, but I had a brain-storm last night and wish to share. I dug into one of my boxes of "perfect" holsters (and other gear that didn't quite work out) and found my old leather cartridge loop holder from years (decades really) gone bye. I also found Uncle Mike nylon cartridge loop holders. Placing 5 rounds (it's a 5 shot snubby) into a speed strip, which I then inserted into the cartridge loop holder, and Viola; a belt speed strip holder. They conceal perfectly under my t-shirt and with a gentle pull on the speed strip, the reload is ready to go.
