Ok I am walmart checking ammo supplies. Two guys are standing there and one is explaining this "new super deadly round where the bullet tip is flat". The one guys says these are flat. Open the box man lets see. No thats not them they are flat with the case thing. I say that is called a wadcutter and is used in revolver comps they are designed to cut nice clean holes in the targets so the scoring is easier. No man no these are so deadly that normal people are not supposed to have. I got some from a buddy of mine who is SWAT. I said no they are not SD rounds they are target rounds. The guy starts to get mad so I shut up and leave.

Good god man I just gave you some very good information and you turn around and make an ass hat out yourself.

During the recent Somali pirate takedown, a wad cutter round was used to shatter the windshield of the skiff a split second prior to the 3 non-wad cutter rounds met their intentioned.

Next time, just smile at them and look them dead in the eye and wait. The first to speak loses. :D

That reminds me of this guy I saw in the gun shop where I got my shotgun. He was pretty sure he could put .223 ammo in his .22LR because the numbers were almost the same.

I don't believe I'm about to say this, but first time gunbuyers should have to watch a video before a purchase is allowed.

We live in an information overloaded world. Unfortunately so much of it is garbage. It's easy to become confused, but it's also easily rectifiable by doing some research and exhibiting a modicum of common sense.

That said, where can I purchase some super velocity, flat, cone thing, swat frisbee ammo?

    Stupid is as stupid does

These are the people that manufacturing company's have nightmares about. Why do you thing the manufactures have to put things like, do not look directly into the laser, razor is sharp, for external use only and such. Some people should not be allowed to breed.:D

I'll add to that "don't look directly down the barrel of your gun and pull the trigger to see if its loaded."

Now, where are these uber man-killer rounds that Wally World carries that no one on this forum has bothered to tell me about?

Some time back I told a combat ninja guy at the range that the US military was replacing standard tracer rounds with rounds that whistle, that way it's easier to understand the direction of fire in the daylight. With out blinking he said "they already have them but only for special ops".

Well, there are always the Plutonium Nitrate bullets (thank you Axel Foley!) that on impact create a tiny nuclear explosion........

On another forum we pretty much just finished up with a poster that was posting about an AR capable of shooting dime sized groups consistently. At 1000 meters. Advised him he would be shooting a group 1/3 the size of the world record 1000 meter shooter.

In all fairness, Wal Mart is some people's only exposure to civilization.

If you ever start feeling bad about yourself, don't spent the money on therapy, go to Wal Mart at midnight. You'll come out feeling much better.

I do too. But if one is truely "stupid" it's not their fault because they were born without the ability to be educated.

"Stupid" is forever. Ignorance can be educated. So there is a difference. That said, it doesn't take a very long conversation to figure out which one you are dealing with.

So.....where do I get some of those "whistling plutonium nitrate bullets"...?? :D

    Thanks buddy!

I have to say I get to deal with a fair amount of people that fall into this arena helping my dad. I help him at car shows and events with his business. Some people have abolutely no idea about high performance engines and drivetrain. My dad and I usually vote on the DA of the day on the ride home. That and the drunkest by 830am guy. It amazes me how many people are plowed by 8 in the morning, walking around with their shirt off and pulling a cooler in a wagon full of beer.
