I'll be leaving for basic training soon and I was wondering on what I should do as far as storing my guns for a long period of time. They'll be left with my dad but he doesn't really have much time to go out and shoot and I don't see him going much by himself. It will be at least 9 months until they're used again. So is there anything I should do to them if they won't be getting used/cleaned/lubed?

Pick up a dehumidifier and lube them up good.

Oh yeah forgot to mention that. We have a locker. It's in a basement so I'm guessing I'll really need the dehumidifier.

So should I use grease since it's long term?

Those are pretty nifty, and pricy. I'll probably go with the dehumidifier in the locker.

    Thank you!

of course you could always ship them to me and i will be glad to store them for you!:p

plenty of oil and dehumidifiers should be adequate for storage.

Hell that's tempting and saves me the trouble of cleaning and lubing them. Though I don't think my "collection" will quite bring anything to the table you don't already have. But you can never have to many on hand!

No problem... Can't go wrong shopping Brownell's or Midway.
