Cheeze Benning Boy, That's a 'efen creepy avatar!I read somewhere thatout the front autos should be stored in "neutral", and leaf or coil spring autos should be stored open. I've not seen anything on assisted openers.
Isn't it the constant opening/closing that would wear out a spring?
The moment arm of the assisted opener spring isn't significant to cause failure as designed. I would guess the six sigma is off the chart.
A typical owner would have a hard time wearing that spring out in 10 lifetimes! Or in other terms; MTBF = life x 10.
